‘Bivision’ is suggestive of lenticular images (a complex printing technique where a composite image is placed behind corrugated acrylic to create the illusion of movement or 3 dimensionality) and 'Trivision' billboards (a type of billboard that can show three advertisements in sequence, thanks to three-sided rotating panels).
Käthe Kollwitz, a German artist who created introspective charcoal self-portraits was the inspiration for this piece. I have similarly created a self portrait in charcoal but have added an illusory ‘moving’ aspect to align the work with my own practice.
'Bivision' was exhibited in the 2023 Inspirational Women Artists Exhibition at God's House Tower in Southampton.
