'Pending' is a site specific installation where synced projections overlap and interact with each other and physical objects and plinths that are arranged in the space. The projections are of multiple angles of the same activity that took place in the room that the work is housed in. The work contrasts the free spontaneity of the filmed activity with the careful, deliberate placement of the physical objects in the space.
We arranged the projections and the objects in ways that create interesting compositions and interactions as the film plays. They are also arranged as though activity is still happening in the space, contributing to the sense that we want the audience to be involved, to walk through the space and have their shadows form a part of the work. The introduction of the moving camera on wheels transforms the camera into another participant in our activity, moving around the space and introducing haphazard, unplanned angles. This, paired with the positioning of the objects and projections, creates happy accidents.
