‘This Way Up’ playfully nods at the precariousness of artists' spaces, the frequent need to pack up a studio at a moment's notice and cart it elsewhere, and the limbo state of an artist's practice when there is no space to be had.
The videos displayed within the installation are recent outputs from the artists' collaborative practice. The pair have recently produced many experimental and creative joint artworks, but just like the majority of artists who face practical, societal, and financial limitations, their practice is ‘boxed in'.
